I drove 1236 to Penny Lane (thanks to Mark Youdan for the above photo) and I called at my old school with 1111 (right).

I was a spare driver and did two trips to Penny Lane on service 80E using buses 1236 and 1836. I did a trip to Woolton on 66B then on to the Pier Head on service 4 (a childhood ambition fulfilled!) using 1111, and a 5 from Woolton to the Pier Head with 1032, which I also drove from Burscough and back.
My brother John turned up with his camera, and lots of interesting photographs were obtained. The whole collection is now posted on my Fotopic site - use this link:

1111 rests at the old 4 terminus on Hunts Cross Avenue, near Whitney Place, while L255 made her first appearance on the roads after many years of restoration work. Below, a video clip of me driving 1111 into the Pier Head. (Click on the picture to play the clip)
